The short version
Sufia Noorbakhshia is a free, non-commercial religious app offered by volunteers as a service to the community. You may use it freely for your personal worship and study.
Two things we ask you to take seriously:
- Prayer times and Qibla are calculated aids, not rulings. They depend on your device's clock, sensors, and location, all of which can be wrong. For matters of worship, confirm with your local mosque or a qualified scholar.
- The religious content is provided as-is for study within the Sufia Noorbakhshia tradition. Despite our care, errors are possible. It is not a substitute for a qualified teacher.
Please do not redistribute the App's content commercially, and please do not misuse the issue-report form.
1.Acceptance of these terms
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") are an agreement between you and the Noorbakhshi IT Team ("we", "us", "our") governing your use of the Sufia Noorbakhshia mobile application ("the App").
By downloading, installing, or using the App, you accept these Terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the App — uninstalling it is your remedy, and it costs you nothing.
2.Eligibility
The App is suitable for all ages and contains no age-restricted material. If you are a minor in your jurisdiction, you should review these Terms with a parent or guardian, who accepts them on your behalf. Because the App has no accounts and no purchases, no contractual capacity beyond this is required of you.
3.Your licence to use the App
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable, royalty-free licence to install and use the App on devices you own or control, for your own religious practice, study, and personal non-commercial use.
You may not:
- Sell, rent, sublicense, or commercially exploit the App or its content;
- Copy, extract, scrape, or bulk-download the App's content or databases for redistribution, or republish them as your own;
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App, except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by applicable law;
- Modify the App, or create derivative works from it, and distribute the result;
- Remove, obscure, or alter any copyright, attribution, or ownership notice;
- Use the App or its infrastructure in any way that is unlawful, or that damages, disables, or overburdens our services.
Sharing a passage with a friend, quoting the content in your own study or teaching, or telling others about the App is welcome and encouraged — that is what it is for. These restrictions target commercial exploitation and misrepresentation, not ordinary personal and devotional use.
4.Religious content — important notice
The App presents the Holy Quran, du'as, awrad, tasbihat, fiqh, and other religious texts, translations, and commentary reflecting the teachings and practice of the Sufia Noorbakhshia school.
We compile and present this material with the utmost care and reverence. Nevertheless, you must understand and accept the following:
- Errors are possible. Transcription, translation, typography, formatting, and software faults can all introduce mistakes, despite our best efforts. We do not warrant that any text, translation, or ruling in the App is complete, accurate, or free of error.
- The App is not a religious authority. It is a study and reference tool. It does not issue fatwas and is not a substitute for a qualified scholar, teacher, or your local religious authority.
- Verify what matters. For any matter of religious obligation, ruling, or practice — and especially before acting on it — consult a qualified scholar and authoritative printed sources. Do not rely on the App alone.
- Tradition-specific. Content reflects the Sufia Noorbakhshia tradition and may differ from other schools of thought. It is offered in that spirit, not as a claim about others.
- Translations are interpretations. No translation can carry the full meaning of the Arabic original. Translations are aids to understanding, not replacements for the source text.
If you find an error in the religious content, we would be grateful if you would report it via Settings → Report Issues. Corrections from the community are welcome and taken seriously.
5.Prayer times & Qibla accuracy
Prayer times and Qibla direction in the App are computed estimates. Treat them as a convenience, never as a final authority for your worship.
Prayer times
Prayer timings are calculated by a third-party service (Aladhan) from your device's location and clock, using the calculation method of the University of Islamic Sciences, Karachi. Their accuracy depends on factors outside our control, including:
- The accuracy of your device's GPS fix, clock, and time zone;
- Your altitude, local terrain, and the horizon at your position;
- Extreme latitudes, where conventional calculation methods are known to be unreliable;
- The calculation method itself, which may differ from the one your local mosque or community follows;
- Network availability, which may cause the App to show cached timings from an earlier position or date.
Always defer to your local mosque, your community's announced timings, and local moon-sighting authorities. The App does not determine the beginning or end of Ramadan or the dates of Eid.
Qibla
The Qibla compass reads your device's magnetometer and motion sensors. It can be significantly affected by magnetic interference — nearby metal, magnets, phone cases, electronics, vehicles, and reinforced buildings — as well as by an uncalibrated or low-quality sensor. Some devices lack a magnetometer entirely.
Verify the direction independently — with a mosque's mihrab, a known local Qibla, or a physical compass — before relying on it for prayer.
Notifications
Prayer-time reminders are scheduled by your device's operating system. They may be delayed, silenced, or missed entirely due to battery optimisation, Do Not Disturb, power saving, device restarts, permission changes, or OS behaviour we cannot override. Do not depend on the App as your only reminder to pray.
6.Intellectual property
The App's source code, design, layout, artwork, icons, compilation, arrangement, and the "Sufia Noorbakhshia" name and branding are owned by the Noorbakhshi IT Team and protected by copyright and other laws. All rights not expressly granted in section 3 are reserved.
The sacred text of the Holy Quran is not subject to any claim of ownership by us, and no such claim is made or implied. Certain translations, commentaries, book texts, fonts, recitation audio, and other materials in the App are the property of their respective authors, publishers, reciters, and rights holders, and are included for religious and educational purposes with attribution where known.
If you are a rights holder and believe material in the App has been included in a way that infringes your rights, please contact [email protected]. We will review the matter promptly and in good faith, and remove or correct the material where appropriate.
7.Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose, or in violation of any applicable law;
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the App, our servers, our databases, or our administrative systems;
- Interfere with or disrupt the App or its infrastructure, including by automated querying, excessive requests, or denial-of-service;
- Introduce malware, or attempt to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of our systems without our written permission;
- Use the App to harass, abuse, defame, or harm others;
- Use the App to disrespect, misrepresent, or defile religious content, or to cause offence to any religious community;
- Misrepresent the App's content as the ruling of any scholar or institution that has not issued it.
8.Your submissions
When you submit an issue report through the App, you agree that:
- The information you provide is accurate and offered in good faith;
- You will not include sensitive personal information — your own or anyone else's — in the report;
- You will not submit unlawful, abusive, defamatory, or infringing content;
- You grant us permission to use your report to diagnose, fix, and improve the App;
- If you suggest an improvement, we may implement it without obligation, compensation, or attribution, and you waive any claim arising from our doing so.
We may decline to act on, or may delete, any submission at our discretion. We are under no obligation to respond to every report, though we try to. How we handle any email address you supply is described in the Privacy Policy.
9.Third-party content & links
The App relies on third-party services — including the Aladhan prayer-times API, Google Firebase, recitation audio providers, and your device's own location and speech services — and contains links to external websites such as nyfpak.org, YouTube, Facebook, and the app stores.
We do not control these services and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, availability, or practices. Following a link or using such a feature is at your own risk and subject to that third party's own terms and privacy policy. Inclusion of a link is not an endorsement.
Listings shown in the App — such as hostels, coaching and IT centres, scholarships, and overseas chapters — are provided for information only. We do not verify, endorse, or guarantee them, and we are not a party to any dealing between you and any listed organisation.
10.Availability & changes
The App is provided on an "as available" basis by volunteers. We do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted, timely, or error-free, and we may:
- Modify, suspend, or discontinue the App or any feature, at any time, without notice;
- Update the App and its content, including corrections to religious material;
- Cease providing the App or our backend services entirely.
Some features need an internet connection and will be limited or unavailable offline. Much of the App is designed to work offline once content has been downloaded.
11.Privacy
Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms. In short: the App has no accounts, no analytics, and no advertising, and almost everything you do stays on your device.
12.Cost & donations
The App is free. There are no purchase prices, subscriptions, in-app purchases, or paid features, and we do not process payments or collect financial information through it.
If the App offers a way to support the project, any contribution is a voluntary donation — it purchases no goods, services, features, or entitlements, and is generally non-refundable. Donations, where offered, are handled by external providers under their own terms.
13.Disclaimer of warranties
The App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement.
Without limiting the above, we do not warrant that: the App will meet your requirements; it will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free; defects will be corrected; or that any content, prayer time, Qibla direction, translation, or religious ruling in the App is accurate, complete, or reliable.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms excludes any right you have under mandatory consumer protection law.
14.Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Noorbakhshi IT Team and its volunteers, contributors, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, goodwill, or opportunity, arising out of or relating to your use of or inability to use the App — including, without limitation, any claim arising from reliance on prayer times, Qibla direction, notifications, translations, or religious content.
To the extent any liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability to you for all claims relating to the App shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the App, which is zero, or (b) US $10.
You acknowledge that the App is provided free of charge by volunteers as a religious service, and that this allocation of risk is a reasonable and essential basis of the agreement between us. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be limited by law.
15.Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Noorbakhshi IT Team and its volunteers from any claim, demand, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the App, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of the rights of any third party.
16.Termination
You may terminate these Terms at any time by uninstalling the App.
We may suspend or terminate your access — including by blocking access to our backend services — if you breach these Terms or misuse our infrastructure. Since the App has no accounts, this ordinarily means restricting access to our servers rather than to a personal account.
Sections 6, 8, and 13 through 20 survive termination.
17.App store terms
Your use of the App is also subject to the terms of the store you obtained it from (Google Play or the Apple App Store). Where those terms conflict with these, the store's terms prevail as between you and the store.
Regarding Apple: these Terms are between you and us only, not with Apple, and Apple is not responsible for the App or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support. If the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, who may refund any purchase price (which is zero); to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple is not responsible for any claim relating to the App, including product liability, legal or regulatory non-compliance, or consumer protection claims, nor for any third-party intellectual property claim. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
18.Changes to these terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top shows the current version, and this page is always the authoritative copy — the same page the App links to from Settings.
For material changes, we will provide reasonable notice in the App. Continuing to use the App after revised Terms take effect means you accept them. If you do not accept them, uninstall the App.
19.Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The courts of Pakistan shall have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
If you are a consumer resident in the EEA, the UK, or another jurisdiction whose law grants you the right to bring proceedings in your local courts and to the protection of its mandatory consumer laws, nothing in this section deprives you of those rights.
Before starting any formal proceedings, we ask that you contact us at [email protected] so we can try to resolve the matter amicably, in the spirit in which this App is offered.
20.General
- Entire agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the App, and supersede any prior understanding.
- Severability. If a provision is held unenforceable, it shall be limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary, and the remainder stays in full force.
- No waiver. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
- Assignment. You may not assign these Terms. We may assign them to a successor that continues to maintain the App.
- No partnership. Nothing here creates an agency, partnership, or employment relationship.
- Language. These Terms are drafted in English. Any translation is provided for convenience only; the English version governs in case of conflict.
- Headings. Headings are for convenience and do not affect interpretation.
